Conveyor Orders Up Slightly in January: CEMA

NAPLES, Fla.—The Conveyor Equipment Manufacturers Association (CEMA) reported an increase of 7% in its January index of booked orders from the December 2008 index.

Overall, the January index represents a decrease of 34% from the January index one year ago. The 12-month index for booked orders was 124 in January, revealing a decrease of 2% from December 2008’s 12-month index of 127.

CEMA’s shipment index in January is down 21% from December’s index and 20% from the January 2008 index.
