Balluff Field Sensor

May 27, 2010
Balluff introduces the BMF 235 magnetic field sensor, which can detect cylinder positions on aluminum-walled pneumatic cylinders, including short-stroke cylinders and grippers.

The GMR (giant magnetoresistive) electronic sensor features a 23-millimeter housing and bright LED for diagnostics. The BMF 235 drops into a variety of T-slots and is secured using a screwdriver or Allen wrench. It installs flush in the slot and includes a cable clip.

The sensor is available in PNP normally open and normally closed versions in IP67 housing, each with cable or pigtail M8 or M12 connectors. Balluff says its magnetic field sensors include short-circuit reverse polarity protection and lifetime warranties.
