Parsippany, NJ -- The Casey Group, Inc, a premier provider of IT outsourcing solutions, application development, and project management consulting services, today announced that Al Santucci, its Director of Project Services, will present an overview of effective project management strategies at the annual conference of the Conveyor Equipment Manufacturing Association (CEMA). The 76th CEMA Engineering Conference will be held May 18-21, 2003 at the LaPlaya Beach Resort in Naples, FL.

Santucci, an information technology industry veteran recognized for his work in project management, or PM, will show how engineering managers in the conveyor industry can effectively apply innovative PM methodologies to their operations in order to streamline overall business processes. Santucci’s presentation is part of a PM-focused conference program that will for the first time in conference history replace the traditional keynote speech.

This change reflects several growing trends. First, there is an increasing level of engineering, integration, and management complexity within the conveyor industry, resulting from the growth of large integrated projects, new technologies, and changing business needs. Second, project management has become the de facto solution used to address this growing complexity.

Third, Professional Engineers, who traditionally have little or no formal PM training, are using this seminar to gain much needed skills and to achieve credit towards annual continuing educational requirements to maintain their PE status.

"This conference and educational program is an evolutionary change for this industry, and I'm pleased to be taking part in it as the sole presenter," said Al Santucci, The Casey Group's resident PM expert and developer of the company’s proprietary, focused PM methodology, known as Target 80(sm). "The analytical, comprehensive guidelines that comprise PM methodologies enable companies to keep complex engineering projects on track, on time, on budget, and toward stated goals. With today's competition and changing economic climate, the industry needs a clear strategy to provide continued quality client or customer service, reduce times to market, and strengthen bottom lines. Project management methodology, once fully understood and effectively implemented, becomes an invaluable resource for leading companies. I'm looking forward to working with everyone involved in the conveyor industry."

CEMA's three-hour PM course is based on principles that have been established, proven, and maintained by the Project Management Institute, a standards organization of which The Casey Group is a member. Santucci, who has more than 25 years of IT development and management experience, teaches project management seminars and courses internally and externally. As a member of the Quality Assurance Institute, he was session speaker at three national QAI conferences on topics including Measurement of Data Processing Quality and Productivity, and Total Quality Management. As a guest speaker at a Guide conference he delivered a talk on Statistical Process Control Applied to the Software Development Life Cycle. He is a founding member of the Tampa Bay Project Management Institute Chapter, and continues to be an active PMI member and speaker at various Florida Chapter meetings.
